About the World Timezones

See the current time in cities around the world at a glance. Handy for scheduling meetings across time zones, coordinating with remote teams, or planning calls with clients abroad.

What is UTC?

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is the global reference clock. Every time zone is defined as an offset from it — New York is UTC-5 in winter, Tokyo is UTC+9. UTC itself never changes for daylight saving.

How many time zones are there?

There are 24 primary one-hour zones, but around 38 offsets are actually in use because some regions shift by 30 or 45 minutes — India is UTC+5:30 and Nepal is UTC+5:45.

What is daylight saving time?

Many countries shift clocks forward one hour in summer to extend evening daylight. Not everywhere observes it, and start dates differ by region, which is why the gap between two cities can change during the year.
